 River Teesta, Sikkim, India

River Teesta that arises in the Himalayas of north central Sikkim (India) and flows down to eventually meet the Ganges-Brahmaputra river system. A huge multidam hydel project is planned in the headwater valleys that will destroy the ecosystem and culture of this seismically active biodiversity-rich sacred valley of the Lepcha people.
