| The Bachelor of Arts is recommended for students in interdisciplinary programs, for entrance to professional schools, and for biological careers that do not specifically require a B.S. degree with a major in Biology. |

In addition to the College of Arts and Sciences general education requirements, the B.A. in Biology degree requires: |

- BIL 150 (General Biology) and BIL 151 (Laboratory)
- BIL 160 (Evolution & Biodiversity) and BIL 161 (Laboratory)
- One semester of inorganic chemistry with laboratory
(CHM 111/113 or CHM 103/105)
- One semester of organic chemistry with laboratory
(CHM 201/205 or CHM 104/106)
- A minor in a department OTHER THAN natural science,
as approved by the College of Arts and Sciences.
