Our
first rendezvous. I got to try out my home made rifle by competing
against other shooters around south Florida. We were shooting at
targets placed among the trees and palmettos. Distances varied.
It was a lot of fun.
We attended the National Muzzleloading Association's Southeastern Rendezvous and for the first time got to experience what a large rendezvous was like. There were buckskinners there from all over the country. In this photograph you can only see a portion of the camp.

During this camp I was to meet some people who have become
lifetime friends.
This is Ralph West, me, and Ralph's brother Buddy early
one evening.

I got to the rendezvous a few days before my wife Tammy.
Before she arrived I sewed a dress for her out of white buckskin.
Fits pretty good and what a surprise! I have learned to sew to make
all my outfits for this hobby. Of course, I still can't work a sewing
machine so it is all by hand.
