I am currently studying the roles of physical maturation and experience with live prey on the development of predatory behaviors in whitespotted bamboosharks. These factors may act alone or in concert to improve predatory behaviors. Additionally, they may each act on different aspects of the predatory sequence. I am also looking at the influence of prey type, as maturation and experience may have different effects when capturing and eating elusive, hard-bodied prey than non-elusive, soft-bodied prey.
