"The Pogopizzaparty"
Delightful pictures, thanks all for an enjoyable evening!
Pip & the Big Guy are siblings from the same clutch --- I don't know how clear their size difference is from the pictures. Pip has done almost no growing in the year we've had him, and the Big Guy seems to have stopped growing in the last half-year. Early malnutrition is probably the cause.
Since the dinner the Big Guy resumed trying to be the top dragon, tapping on the glass to get Diane's or my attention, then running over and tackling Pip. Diane reaffirmed her view of who the top dragon is, and what acceptable rules are in this living room.
He hadn't acted up after our education shows, but He and Pip were the only dragons present at those. Seeing and sniffing Chomper apparently has Inspired him to try for new heights. (Normally if he climbs on the rock, Pip runs on top of him. Pip has an amazing amount of chutzpah per gram.)
Gem (the corn snake) had laid nine eggs that started hatching while we were at the dinner. One definitely has his mother's personality. He had poked about an inch out of the egg, and was calmly looking around and flicking his tongue to sniff all the interesting new odors. Diane held out a finger, and he extended an additional inch to sniff it ...then decided he was tired and lay down for a rest before going farther. Instinctive fear? What's that?
They've just finished their first shed [now, three weeks later] and should be ready for breakfast any day now (some hatchlings are lower maintenance than others).
Lyndon
