HHMI Undergraduate Research Traineeship Application The application is available here, in PDF format HHMI Program Responsibilities The long-term goal of the HHMI program is to encourage students from underrepresented minorities to enter research careers in the biomedical sciences. The immediate goal of our program is to enable students to complete a B.S. degree in Biology at the University of Miami. Students participating in the HHMI program at the University of Miami are expected to fulfill the following requirements: Students must be classified as a full-time student (minimum 12 credits a semester). Students MUST maintain a 3.0 GPA while in the program. Students are required to enroll in special research seminar each semester during their first two years. Students are required to do a minimum of two semester of research before graduating from UM. Students are required to write an honor thesis based on their research experience at the end of their senior year. Students must complete four years at the University of Miami. Students are required to apply yearly for federal, state and institutional financial aid
