Hi my name is Jacob and my nickname is Jake. I am twelve and going into seventh grade. I have two parents and a brother. I have a lot of pets: 19 snakes, two box turtles, one leopard tortoise, one fire skink, one bearded dragon, one tree frog and fourteen snake eggs about to hatch. As you can tell I am in to herpetology. Also I really like marine biology. I have been to Sea Camp twice. Sea Camp is a marine biology program in the keys. I really like snorkeling over coral reefs. I belong to the Everglades and Florida keys Herpetological Society. I am in the National Science Foundation program at the University of Miami because I am really interested in all sorts of science such as; biology, marine biology, ecology, and herpetology. That is all about me.
"Long Lost Memories"
The Everglades has no mouth so it can't speak
So it's mighty words will come out of me
I will talk about the danger it is in
The water is contaminated
The wild life is disappearing
I can also feel it's feelings
The Everglades has many memories from long ago
Of the time the humans got along with it
Some of those memories are kept alive by the humans that help
But there are only a few
So the memories are fading faster and faster
The memories are fading with every building built and every drop of water lost
