western_gull_courting
western gulls, Santa Barbara, CA, USA, 2008. Here is a sequence of shots of a pair courting. The male (or what appears to be the male) deliberately approaching the female. Afterward they interact in a series of very slow head movements. The male (left) always had his head down during the courtship and next bowed. Reminded me slightly of a show horse with its neck bowed.
